Target Credit Card Breach
January 21, 2014
Dear Valued Client:
Plaza Bank is aware of the merchant database compromises recently reported by Target and other major merchandisers. We value your relationship and wanted to take this opportunity to assure you that Plaza Bank takes every precaution to safeguard your information and your accounts. We would also like to share some additional information with you regarding ways in which you can help protect your account and your personal information from potential compromise. Although your account is monitored for unusual activity, we strongly recommend that you monitor your account for unauthorized transactions and report any suspicious transactions to the Bank as soon as possible so that we may take immediate action.
As an added safeguard, you may want to subscribe to a credit monitoring service through one of the major credit reporting companies (www.experian.com, www.equifax.com, www.transunion.com ) to receive alerts on any unusual activity that may occur on your credit report.
Here are some additional ways that you can help protect yourself against Identify Theft and potential unauthorized transactions on your account:
- Always be cautious about sharing personal information, such as Social Security numbers, passwords, user IDs and financial account information.
- Store and dispose of your personal information securely.
- Ask questions before deciding to share your personal information and never share information with anyone over the phone, email or text, even if they claim to be someone you know.
- Maintain appropriate security for your computers and other electronic devices.
Please be assured that your personal identity and account information are secure and every effort is made to protect you against any unauthorized charges. If you have any further questions or detect suspicious activity on your account, please contact our Client Services Center at (877) 714-9599 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
